Relocating to our area – What are some considerations you should make if you’re considering relocating to the area?

The city of Blairsville itself with a population of 652 was incorporated in 1835.  Located within Union County, named for the Union Party some 30 years before the Civil War.  Also called “The top of Georgia” because the state’s highest peak, Brasstown Bald, is located here.

As for buying a home here, the choices are unlimited.  You can purchase with in town, remote, rustic, contemporary.  A lake view, a mountain view, a waterfall, a stream or a combination of any of those.  As we have grown we have even seen the addition of some very nice golf communities.

If you’re bringing a family we know that education will be extremely important to you.  Recognized as one of Georgia’s Charter School systems and serving over 2700 students, all five of our public schools pride themselves in cultivating the leaders of tomorrow. We also offer several private schools, including John C. Campbell Folk School.  Continuing education for all members of the family are offered at 3 colleges.

There are plenty of opportunities in and around Blairsville-Union County for lifelong learners to continue to expand and enrich their education and have a thirst for knowledge.
