My goodness what a year 2020 has started out to be.  In May of this year we began to hear the rumblings of folks wanting to get up to the mountains and I do not blame them one bit.  We have spent the better part of this six months just being grateful for the blessing of a fulltime home up here.

All that has happened has shed some light on living a little more outside the box and out from under a looking glass, where privacy is the norm.  It is just more enjoyable when distancing is filled with the sights and sounds of the woods or the lake.

Social distancing up here was not actually all that different.  It meant we stood or rocked on the porch and talked to the neighbors walking by.  We worked in the flower gardens and raised a hand to those that were simply out for a country drive.  We only made the short drive to town when we needed to and then we wore our masks and gloves.  Aside from the added attire, that could be any spring or summer morning up here.  It has been said to me that Daniel Boone used to say that “if he could see the neighbors fire, it was time to move.”  I think I would have liked him.

So, is it your time to move?  Are you looking to go to a larger home, downsize or just a little more land than you have now?  Listing your mountain home right now may be just the thing to do!  Inventory is moving so fast with the local realtors that it is hard to have homes available.  Mortgage rates are as low as everyone keeps telling you.  They are low on 15 year, 30 year and even most unconventional types of loans.  That means buyers are able to afford the home they want, whether it is a primary residence or even a second home.  Just a few examples of what has been sold recently

So if you have thought about listing, now is the time to have that discussion with a local realtor.  We live and work here and have first-hand knowledge of these areas.  Our families are part of the communities.  A few of us were born and raised here, while several others came to the mountains to enjoy a more simple way of life. Whether you are a life-long resident looking to buy or sell a home or you are coming into the area for the first time, our family at Union Realty can help your family.

As always, Thank you for spending a little time with us today and once again… Welcome to the Mountains
